When night draws near the harebells chime to start the Elven dance. On music sweet they swirl and turn and move as if in a trance. The Elf Lords leap into the air and lift the maidens high The night is filled with songs of joy, under a star-lit sky.
I csnt tell you how much i kove this poem Joyce! Ive always been in love with the whimsical . This one is so fanciful, you must have had fun writing it. Thank you!
Joyce you have entered the mushroom ring . Been taught the fairy faith’s song. Treasure the beat that lifts maiden’s high to touch the sky. Few can follow this dance and in the morning slip away in the blink of an eye.
That's a beautiful poem! The imagery is lovely, particularly the harebells chiming to mark the beginning and end of the Elven dance. It creates a sense of magic and ritual. Thank you for sharing your work!
Joyce, it seems so exotic and foreign, like Druids and elves dancing at dawn. I am reminded that you live somewhere in the British isles? I live in the mountains in Southern California, there are rumors that locals dance naked around campfires in the deep forest. If one of my models is to be believed. : )
I didn’t know that about Topanga but I knew some people that lived there. Here, in Idyllwild, I don’t think they have anything official like a nudist camp.
Love, love, love this Joyce!
Thank you, Pamela. Much appreciated 💙🙏💫

Thank you very much, Charlotte. I wrote this with Tolkien’s work in mind. But I did have fun 💙🙏💫🧚♀️
I immediately saw the Tolkien landscape and the rhythm of both the language and the dance
Oh thank you, Kathleen. Yes, the landscape as he pictured it was on my mind when I wrote that. I think it was after reading The Silmarillion. 💙🙏💫
This is lovely and uplifting as always, Joyce. Thank you.
Thank you, Heidi 💙🙏💫

Thank you, Deborah… they’ll keep dancing 💙🙏💫🧚♀️
Enchanting!
Thank you, AC !
I loved this. It reminded me of Child of Faerie Child of Earth, which I love.
Thank you so much, Harold 💙🙏💫🧚♀️
You're welcome, Joyce. By any chance, have you read that?
No, actually I haven’t. Or rather, I cannot remember I did.
It's good, and the pictures are neat

No, Michael, I live across the channel, mainland Europe, and I can assure you that we’ve got nothing like that here.
Inspiration came (long ago) from Tolkien’s works.
Hmmm, perhaps that model’s tale is to be taken with a pinch of salt.
: ) I was being mysterious, I have seen the pics. Its a real thing.
Oh my goodness…well, each to their own.
There’s no forest near where I live, so no dancing at all ;o)
Topanga mountains Michael. Was true. But nudist colony closed years ago. Course Big Bear may be different story.

Try a golf course middle of hot night when sprinklers come on. Tee off.
Just delightful Joyce….
Thank you, Richard 🙂
Perspective to have pixies dust, sleepy seeds over your eyes is first a must, then the
dreams come to you to write poems lightly as the dew.
